Measure mirrors and doors

Allow for roof rails, tailgates, vans and any sloping driveway approach.
Plan gutter and downpipe positions so water does not discharge across the driveway or towards the house.

About 3m is a common minimum starting point, but 3.3–3.5m is more comfortable beside a wall or for a larger vehicle.
